At Sierra Pacific Orthopedics, our specialists are committed to ridding and preventing your musculoskeletal discomforts and disorders. Radiating neck and backaches, numbness and weakness, muscle fatigue, and muscle cramping are all common symptoms that can be assessed by electrodiagnostic testing.

Our electrodiagnostic medicine specialists are experts in the performance of electrodiagnostic consultations in our Sierra Pacific Orthopedics' accredited electrodiagnostic (EDX) laboratory. The test consists of a nerve conduction study, which tests how well signals travel along a nerve to help find the cause of abnormal nerve function.

At Sierra Pacific Orthopedics, our specialist is an expert in diagnosing, evaluating, and treating impairments due to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Our goal is to effectively treat you and swiftly get you back to enjoying your favorite activities, free from pain.

About EDX Laboratory Accreditation

Our laboratory at Sierra Pacific Orthopedics has achieved EDX Laboratory Accreditation through the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). The AANEM Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Laboratory Accreditation Program is a voluntary, peer-review process that acknowledges laboratories for achieving and maintaining the highest level of quality, performance, and integrity based on professional standards. It is a structured mechanism to assess, evaluate, and improve patient care as accreditation provides laboratories specializing in EDX medicine such as the one we have here at Sierra Pacific Orthopedics with a structured mechanism to assess, evaluate, and improve the quality of care provided to our patients.

The Value of Laboratory Accreditation

The AANEM promotes the accreditation program on an ongoing basis to build awareness and credibility for this important quality and patient care initiative as the recognized standard for EDX medicine. The AANEM EDX Laboratory Accreditation:

  • Demonstrates clinical excellence in EDX medicine
  • Proves a laboratory’s commitment to providing the highest quality health care and a safe environment for patients
  • Provides patients, referral sources, and payers with a credible measure to differentiate the laboratory’s quality of care

Why Should Payers Consider Laboratory Accreditation?

Private and public payers need a tool to identify quality EDX studies. AANEM’s program helps payers to be sure their payments are made to providers trained to perform EDX testing and who use the appropriate equipment, are onsite, and provide real-time diagnosis. This ensures patient safety, best quality, lowest cost, and helps payers avoid paying for fraudulent services.
