About
Dr. Kraft was born and raised in Fresno, California, and graduated from Fresno State University in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in zoology. He played football for Fresno State and held the record for most touchdowns in a single game for 40 years until it was broken by Derek Carr in 2013. Dr. Kraft earned his medical degree in 1984 from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Family Medicine at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and received the "Intern of the Year" and "Resident of the Year" awards while there.
Dr. Kraft is board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine. He received his certificate of added qualification in sports medicine in 1993, the first year that sports medicine was recognized as a specialty, and he is also a charter member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He has been and continues to be involved in teaching students, interns, and residents in the areas of sports medicine and family medicine.
Dr. Kraft returned to Fresno State University as a team physician in 1987 and continues to provide medical and nonsurgical orthopedic services to all of the intercollegiate teams as well as serves as a medical consultant to Fresno Pacific University. He has actively served as a sideline physician and provided event coverage for Clovis and Fresno schools.
Dr. Kraft currently resides in Fresno and enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and ten grandchildren. His practice is limited to family medicine and sports medicine, but he will evaluate and treat any type of injury or athletic medical issue, including sports-related concussions.
